Arms Trafficking - Peru, Jordan and Colombia

Between 1998 and 1999, the President of Peru, Alberto Fujimori, and the person who in practice ruled the Intelligence Agency of Peru, Vladimiro Montesinos, trafficked about ten thousand Kalashnikov fusils from Jordan to the Colombian guerilla Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC). The Colombian guerilla paid around 15 million dollars to Montesinos for the weapons that were delivered in parachutes released from a plane. Jordan Government apparently legally sold the weapons to the Peruvian Government.
